Mandate

SCFI carries the advocacy and developmental mandate of the movement. Its economic arm, the SaveCoconut Multi-Purpose Cooperative (SCMPC), handles capital, marketing and business operations. Under a 2023 MOA SCFI is a developmental partner of the Philippine Coconut Authority in implementing the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP), assisting coconut farmers, their organizations and local government units to avail of Shared Processing Facilities for market-driven coconut products.

PCA also recognizes SCFI as a conduit for local and foreign donations and grants that benefit coconut farmers. The Foundation organizes the Annual National Convention, links the clusters — NCR, Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao and International — and coordinates with CFIDP agencies including PhilMech, DTI, ATI, CHED, TESDA, CDA and the Climate Change Commission.
